However, They're great cars and used will probably last just as long as new. You're right though...Toyota has great financing available so the payments will be good no matter what. Check into their lease option. I looked into it and for $200 a month payments w/12,000 miles a year, that may be the way to go depending on how many miles he puts on it a year. You can purchase more miles though...like 15, 18K. The payments just go a 'bit'. Good luck in the hunt.
