Live the day!

Yesterday was a great day! I said a few days ago I was going to start to Live the Day! Yesterday we did! After dropping Jayden off at Sit-n-Play, I left Eliana with Dave and went to the grocery store ALL BY MYSELF! It was liberating! I picked up the kids afterwards and met my old workmates for lunch. It was nice and enjoyable. Then, we stopped by Rosa's and the whole gang was there! Jayden had a great time playing with his friends and living it up at Rosa's while everyone else ooo'ed and ahhh'ed over his sister.

We came home for naps and then off to Grandma and Grandpa's house for dinner. What a full day we had! We were soooo busy, I don't know how today could possibly match up! But, we have music at 10:30 and then off to playgroup this afternoon.

But, now, it is time to put the crayons away before Jayden colors his face purple again.

Live the day!

Eliana sees the Pediatrician

Eliana had her very first appointment with her pediatrician today. All went well. She was awake, quiet (please read: not screaming her little fool head off), and active. She weighs 9.6 lbs and measures 22 inches today. Her pediatrician, Dr. Armstrong, was impressed that she has gained 2 pounds since birth already. He said she looks good and gets a clean bill of health. All she needs right now is to sleep and grow and she seems to be doing that well. Yay for us!

Sweet Tomatoes for my sweet boy!

Today we finally made it to Sweet Tomatoes for lunch. Thank you Paula, Malena, Stacy and Monica for joining us! I would like to say it was calm and relaxing just like the old days, but it wasn't exactly calm. I enjoyed the company and the conversation greatly, though! It was nice to be with friends again. I am feeling very isolated at home. While I enjoy my own company, I do believe that you can have too much of a good thing! :)

After lunch, we came home and I fought with Jayden for a bit for his nap, but he finally succumbed to sleep. That leaves me a few blessed minutes to myself (Eliana is sleeping atm too) with a whole bunch of stuff to do and not knowing where to start! I figured that I would post this entry and take a nap. Everything will still be there when Jayden and I wake up.

I do need to put Eliana's medical file together. She has her first appointment with the pediatrician tomorrow. SO EXCITING! :) I love how tiny she is! I hope she doesn't grow up too fast on me. I can't believe how big Jayden is already and he wants to potty train! I don't think he is ready, but it seems too early to me. I think he would know best if he was ready or not. Everyone said it would go so quickly! I think there were many times that I forgot to pay attention! :( I must remember not to just get through the day, but to LIVE the day. I think I will try to make that my new motto....Live the day! Well, I am off to LIVE my nap. :)

Starting off

So, this is my first entry in this blog. I decided that this would be a nice way to let friends and family know what was going on with our little family and what I felt about all of that. I kept thinking that journaling would be a great idea for letting the kids know about their youngest years, but I am not very good at that sort of thing. Jayden (now 2) will miss out on knowing a lot of his firsts because I didn't record that sort of thing for him. Of course, nothing says I will get it right from here on out either, but at least I am making the attempt. In any case, today was a typical Friday schedule for us so far. Jayden got up at 7:30 AM and we watched TV in bed until I pushed Dave out of bed to get Jayden breakfast while I fed Eliana. Naturally, Jayden drank the milk out of his cereal, but chose not to eat the Cheerios themselves. Then, Jayden took a shower with Dave (although he doesn't like these showers as much as he used to) and climbed back into bed with me and put his icy cold feet on me. This of course woke me up and we got out of bed. After giving Eliana her bath and jumping in the shower, we all rushed off to Gymboree for Jayden's class at 11. There was a lot of pretend and not much movement today, so Jayden (and the other boys and Dave) got bored in class. I , however, got some great pictures of Jayden and Dave playing together. I may post them someday, but right now they are still in the camera. After gym, we had lunch in teh food court, a short trip to Target and now a blessed nap! I LOVE NAP TIME!! :) So, I am off to have one myself.
