Precious or precocious??

Ever have one of those days that just never ends????

Jayden is getting into one thing after another today. I feel like I have spent the last 3 hours telling him "No" this and "No" that. It's exhausting! Of course, I am suffering from lack of sleep so this may not actually be as bad as it feels, but I think he needs to go to bed early tonight so I can have some "ME" time before I hit the hay. ( or lose my mind) And THANK GOD we don't have ANY Halloween plans tomorrow...

I know, y'all are thinking, "Lynda is grateful for a Halloween-free day?" But, yes, I have had enough for one week! Last Saturday we had a party for Las Madres Working Moms, Wednesday was sit-n-play Halloween cookies, Thursday was Monkeys Halloween party, Today Las Madres local group Halloween party, Sunday we will go to Happy Hallow with Grandma Tess, and of course, Monday night trick-or-treating with Grandma Tess and Ashley. I have had my fill this year!

I'll post pictures as soon as I find a better way of getting them from the camera to my computer. Right now it all goes through Dave's computer which is a pain in my rear!

Some days hanging out at home seems like the best thing to do. I don't like to have too many of those days where you run around from one thing to another and spend the whole day out and about. It seems like we have done an awful lot of that lately. It was nice to spend a day relaxing at home today.....well, sort of.

I got us dressed and we went to my parents' house this morning(ish) for breakfast(lunch) and to do a load of laundry (won't it be nice to get that done at home again!) and then we came home for naps. But, Eliana and I went to the dentist because my tooth has been bothering me ever since they filled my cavity. Apparently all is normal, but ...ugh... the sensitivity! :(

since then, we came home and we all got to nap and relax and be lazy at home! Now to get some work done??? No...maybe not. Tomorrow is another day!

Enjoy the pictures!

Dinosaurs alive!

Well, I just finished making Jayden's Halloween costume! Woohoo!! My little blueberry is going to be a dinosaur and Kayleigh is going to be his twin! They are going to be sooo cute together! I need to hem to legs and stuff the tail, but otherwise it's done! Just in time too...we are going to a Halloween party on Saturday then the playgroup here on Thursday, then LM playgroup on Friday, then of course, Halloween! We will get lots of use out of this costume! :)

On another note, I just found out there is a website where kids and parents can "rate" teachers. I am sooooooo super offended by this website I don't even have words for it! One of the categories is Easiness....now my thought here is that an EASY teacher is not necessarily an effective teacher and most effective teachers are not EASY. The other two categories are fine by me...helpfulness and clarity, but most kids respond emotionally rather than reflectively when rating teachers anyway. I suppose though, I can't complain too much. I got a pretty good rating overall...4 out of 5. Still, it's really offensive.

Hrumph....I am off to stew over this....

Pumpkins pumpkins pumpkins galore!

Today we went to the pumpkin patch with some mommy friends and their kids. We had a great time! We saw a little movie on how pumpkins grow; rode a train--TWICE; got lost (literally) in the corn stalk maze; and picked out a pumpkin to bring home to Daddy. Jayden ran through the maze so fast, that Ellie and I lost him. He actually ran through a second time (thanks to one of the moms we were with) and we caught up to him...well he caught us when he exited the second time.

True to form, Ellie slept through the whole day. I am not complaining at all. It was nice to be able to spend the time with Jayden enjoying the events with him and just carrying her around. When she is older next year and can enjoy the activities herself, it will be a lot more fun. Besides that, I am hoping that Jayden will be more attentive to my instructions next year and I won't lose him in the corn maze.

We are finally making progress on the kitchen. We bought the tile for the countertops today. Ok...WE didn't buy the tile. I picked out which of the samples we brought home that I liked best, and DAVE bought the tile. Apparently it took a long time to get it. So, while I was having fun with the kids at the pumpkin patch, Dave was stuck in a hot, crowded, dusty warehouse buying our tile. Poor Davey!

Catch me if you can!

Wow! Who knew life could be so hectic and still I have nothing to say. These last 2 weeks have been an ongoing rampage of activity! I've spent time planning Ellie's baby naming ceremony and party, gone to High Holiday services, run around after Jayden while tending to Ellie who seems to do a lot of not much more than cry, and try to pick out stuff for the kitchen. I feel like I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut off for days! And, yet, I have nothing to say when I sit down to enter a post on this blog.

I wonder what that means......

Shabbat Shalom!

Tonight I took the kids to Shabbat services. They were great! Jayden was really well behaved considering he is 2. He ran around checking out all the chairs, but since he was quiet about it, he wasn't really bothering anyone and so, I say we had success!

Eliana had her massive poop yesterday and has been pretty regular since then. She is back to normal mostly. A little crying here and there, but all in all, pretty content.

Tomorrow, Jayden will participate in the Walk-a-thon at Ashley's school. He is supposed to get a T-shirt and prizes and I am not sure what else, but I am hoping nice and tired goes with it. It will be good for him to have a long nap tomorrow. He hasn't been sleeping as long as I think he should during the week. I don't like the idea of "catching up", but it's better than being sleep deprived I guess. I am thinking it should be fun. It will get us away from the house while Dave is working at any rate. Maybe he will get a super whole lot done! :)

Well, that's it for me right now.

My Poor Baby!

Not really sure what's up with her, but Ellie is fussy fussy fussy fussy these last few days. I suspect it has something to do with her not pooping since Sunday. She eats ok (well, not yesterday) but her output does not seem to match her input. I hope she will settle down in the next couple of days. If not for her sake, for mine! I haven't had a decent night's sleep in 3 nights! I'm tired! I know...you're thinking, "How selfish to be thinking of herself while her little baby suffers!" But, really, I am thinking of her too. She needs me to be fully functional and I need sleep to do that. Plus, Jayden really needs my attention during the day these days (he's feeling a little displaced) and I definitely need sleep to keep up with him!

Maybe tonight she will have a massive poop and then we can all get some sleep! :)

L'Shana Tova!

Happy New Year! Tonight marks the beginning of the new Jewish year. It also happens to be my Jewish calendar birthday. So, happy birthday to me! :) I attended services tonight with my parents and Eliana. Dave was working but will go with us tomorrow. This is good, because while Jayden got to play with Grandma Tess and Aunt Ashley tonight, he will be at services with us tomorrow, too. I will need to take turns watching after him tomorrow or else the trip out will be a waste of time and not very prayerful. I am glad to be attending tomorrow's service though because I have been feeling spiritually deprived as of late. This is a really good opportunity for renewal. I suppose really, that is what the next ten days are really about anyway. Spiritual and emotional renewal. For physical renewal, I guess I would need a good massage, facial, manicure, pedicure...

Bonfante Jubulante!

Today we had a family day out at Bonfante Gardens! The four of us and Dave's mom and Ashley all trekked down to BFG for a day of fun and excitement. Jayden LOVED the rides and the fun and the atmosphere. He especially liked being with his Ashley. Poor Ash, though...Jayden wanted her to carry him and gosh does he weigh a LOT. He just doesn't realize that his 30 lbs is too much for Ashley to hold for a long time.

In any case, we had a great time. This was Eliana's first day at the park. She slept through most of it. I dressed her rather warmly this morning (it was chilly at home) so at our first diaper changing stop, Grandma changed her diaper and put one of Jayden's JIC T-shirts on her. Why didn't Ellie deserve to wear her own JIC T-shirt? Daddy left it in the car! But, that's ok...she was absolutely adorable in Jayden's Mickey with a flag tee. And, she got to go on her first carosel (did I spell that right? looks weird) ride.

What an exhausting day! Maybe we will do it again next weekend! :)
